Laura MacPhail is President of MacPhail & Associates LLC, and Consultant on Strategy and Market Insights, at CCSI Marketing + Culinary.
Laura spent many years as a Senior Principal with The Hale Group, Ltd., a strategic management consulting firm focused on the food system.
Her clients have included dozens of major companies such as Tyson Foods and Darden Restaurants, and many grower-directed and commodity groups such as Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute. She has also worked with industry groups such as the Produce for Better Health, WFF, IFDA, IFMA, and the Coca Cola Retailing Research Council.
Her practice since 1987 has centered on sales and marketing strategy development, brand awareness and positioning, trade channel requirements and education, product innovation, and customer satisfaction. Her particular expertise is foodservice operators: their needs, their business practices, and their approach to supply chain partners.
Laura also owned and operated The Compendium Group, a foodservice research firm.
Laura was Chair of the IFMA Market Data Committee for three years and an active member for many more. She received the IFMA Sparkplug Award for her contributions to the foodservice industry. She was formerly Chair of the Women's Foodservice Forum Member Research Committee. Laura is a former board member of the Women's Foodservice Forum.
She received a B.A. from Cornell University and an MBA from Michigan State University’s Broad College of Business, with a concentration in the School of Hospitality Business. Laura spent several years in restaurant operations.
Sandra Winters is Director of Foodservice Immersion, a MacPhail & Associates LLC company.

A former marketing officer at a national distribution company, Sandra has years of experience in the intricacies of distribution and of marketing, both B2B and consumer.
Her early experience was in bookstore retail management. Prior to joining Foodservice Immersion, she and her husband owned and operated a boutique hotel in Palm Springs.
Sandra currently serves on the Publicity and Management Committees of the Friends of Medford Library, and is a founding member of Small Hotels of Palm Springs and The New York Regional Booksellers Association, and has served on the board of the San Diego Council on Literacy and The San Dieguito Performing Arts Association.
